Welcome to Iron County on the southwestern part of Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula, bordering Wisconsin. The County was named after the iron ore that was discovered in 1846. Now a forestry and tourism industry residents and visitors share the beauty of fishing, hunting, skiing, snow-mobiling, canoeing and camping. Enjoy all four seasons with us in our community.
