Since 1983, Iron County's records have been microfilmed or scanned in accordance with the State of Michigan accepted methods. The Microfilm Department has been recognized by the State of Michigan for their filming quality. All records of retention value are microfilmed. Such as deeds, mortgages, births, deaths, marriage licenses, tax records, court records, and military discharges.
A copy of the records are on file in the respective offices at the Iron County Courthouse and the original master negative is stored at Underground Storage in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
