About Cooks Run Cedar

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is John Nieminen and I am the owner and operator of Cooks Run Cedar Inc. Cooks Run Cedar Inc. is a cedar products sawmill and a home designing and building company which has been in business since 1985.

We have designed and built over 70 homes and earned a solid reputation for quality materials and workmanship. Our portfolio of homes includes everything from hunting camps to executive mansions with indoor swimming pools. We have built many full log homes as well as frame homes with a variety of cedar sidings produced by our mill or contemporary sidings picked out by our customers. Several of our homes have won national competitions. We dedicate ourselves to building quality and energy efficient homes and build each one as if we were building it for ourselves.

Because we have our own mill operation we can guarantee the quality of materials and have the flexibility to create the custom sizes and shapes which are often needed in custom design homes.
